It has been almost a year since Israel invaded Gaza following the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is calling for an immediate end to all further war actions against Palestinian citizens using United States-made weaponry.
In a public address – watch below – Lavrov addressed the mounting death toll of Palestinian civilians in Gaza and elsewhere, which vastly exceeds the number of Israelis who died on October 7.
“There can be no justification for acts of terrorism, which Israelis fell victim to on the 7th of October last year, but everyone who still has a sense of compassion is outraged by the fact that the October tragedy is being used for the mass collective punishment of the Palestinians in the form of an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe,” Lavrov said to the room.
“The killing of Palestinian civilians with American weapons must be immediately ended.”

Israel continues to wage war in blatant violation of international law, which is prompting Lavrov and others like him to keep bringing up the fact that something must be done to restore peace both in the region and throughout the world.
The Palestinian people are supposed to have their own sovereign territory within the land mass now known as Israel. This was established following the Six-Day War in 1967 when a map was created that allowed for certain areas of what is now called Israel to remain in the possession of the Palestinian people.
“It is important to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave, the reconstruction of infrastructure, and most importantly it is important to guarantee the realization of the legitimate right of the Palestinians to self-determination and to allow them not in words but in deeds, as they say, on the ground to create a contiguous and viable state within the 1967 borders with its capital in East Jerusalem,” Lavrov explained about why he wants all fighting with U.S.-made weapons to stop immediately.
We have been hearing this kind of chatter for months from the United Nations (UN) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), both of which recognize that Israel is committing war crimes in blatant violation of international law.
“I am sick and tired of these talks,” wrote someone on X about all the chatter. “For 75 years, they all knew that apartheid Israel has no respect for international law, commits heinous crimes against the Palestinians, but business continued as usual.”
Another suggested taking away Israel’s fighter planes, many of which are U.S.-made and are crucial for Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to continue conducting air strikes on its targets throughout the region.
“As if the Russians haven’t supported Iran with its missile development,” wrote another about the apparent hypocrisy of Lavrov’s statement.
“It’s still unbelievable that the USA sends those bombs and weapons to mass murder the Palestinians,” said another. “And they just keep sending – it doesn’t matter the circumstances.”
“We are tired of all these speeches of condemnation against Israel or the United Snakes of America,” wrote someone else. “We need to see some serious actions taken against them.”
“All nations that genuinely support human rights have spoken out against Israel’s aggression and are pushing for the establishment of a Palestinian state.”
